Governor Walker declared April 25, 2017 as “Fab Lab Day” in Wisconsin. As part of Fab Lab Day celebration, the Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation (WEDC) and Governor Scott Walker announced the recipients
of the Wisconsin’s fabrication laboratories (Fab Labs) Grant Program. As stated in Walker’s press release, all
applications were evaluated based on criteria that included evidence of readiness and long-range planning,
curriculum, partnerships, financial need, and previous awards. 

 

East Troy was one of 69 applicants and one of only 21 recipients of a 2017 Fab Lab Grant.


2017 is the second consecutive year that the East Troy Community School District was awarded a WI Fab Lab
Grant. The ETCSD will be utilizing the $24,550 to expand the current Fab Lab by purchasing an additional teach
pendant for a Fanuc 6-axis training robot, an additional laser engraver, vacuum forming machine and a portable laser engraver.

DISTRICT RECEIVES $25,000 FAB LAB GRANT

The Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation (WEDC) and Governor Scott Walker announced on May 2, 2016 the first recipients of the Wisconsin's fabrication laboratories (Fab Labs) Grant Program.  East Troy was one of 90 applicants and one of only 25 recipients of a Fab Lab $25,000 Grant. As stated in Walker's press release, all applications were competitively evaluated based on criteria that included evidence of long-range of planning, curriculum, partnerships, and financial need.
