Department Overview
The Business & Information Technology program provides students with opportunities to explore a variety of careers including accounting, finance, marketing, information systems, and business law. All courses are dual credit/transcripted with Gateway Technical College. Students can also earn their Payroll Assistant Certificate.

Pathway Certificates
Payroll Assistant Certificate
Build a foundation for a career in payroll with the Payroll Assistant certificate. After completing this certificate, students will be able to compile and record employee time and payroll data. They will also be prepared to compute and post wages, calculate deductions, and prepare paychecks. Students will be familiar with payroll laws and preparing reconciliations. Employment opportunities for students who complete this certificate include payroll clerk, payroll assistant, payroll specialist, or personnel assistant.

FBLA
Future Business Leaders of America-Phi Beta Lambda, Inc. (FBLA-PBL) is the largest career student business organization in the world. Each year, FBLA-PBL helps over 230,000 members prepare for careers in business.
In addition to exploring business careers, FBLA members also demonstrate their leadership skills through community service projects, fundraising activities, and chapter officer positions.

NBHS
The National Business Honor Society (NBHS) is an academic honor society that helps to recognize business students at the high school level. NBHS recognizes the outstanding scholarship, character, leadership, and service of students who are interested in pursuing a career in business.
The objectives of the National Business Honor Society include:

*Transcripted Credit courses with Gateway Technical College - Students earn high school credits and college credits at the same time by taking Gateway courses taught by qualified high school teachers, using the same textbooks and materials as Gateway.
